ABOUT ME

My name is Ariella Blackman, and I am a first-year undergraduate student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. I am passionate about science and space, as well as performing arts such as dance, marching band, concert band, chamber music, and musical theater. I love finding new ways to demonstrate my passion for STEM creatively. I find it extremely fulfilling to use my unique background combining science and performing arts to promote the importance of gender equality in STEM and to inspire young girls to pursue careers in science and engineering.

Whether modeling a cost-effective oxygen production system for Mars through my scientific research, or writing code to determine the orbital elements of a near-earth asteroid over the summer, I'm so fortunate to have incredible educational opportunities. I feel grateful for the awards I've received, but am even more excited about the supportive people I've met and the knowledge I've gained.
