My name is Ariella Blackman, and I am a first-year undergraduate student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology pursuing a Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering. I am passionate about science and space and am fascinated by human spaceflight. I hope to develop human life support systems and examine human-system interactions in aerospace contexts. I also want to examine the intersection of science and engineering.
I am also interested in the performing arts, including dance, music, and musical theater. I love finding new ways to demonstrate my passion for STEM creatively. I find it extremely fulfilling to use my background to combine science and performing arts to promote the importance of gender equality in STEM and to inspire young girls to pursue careers in science and engineering.
